How to choose the perfect first dance song for your wedding

As a highly experienced professional wedding band with over 60 years of collective experience, we’ve seen our fair share of first dance tracks. Whether your song is modern, an old classic, sung by a male or female vocalist, and whatever the genre, we treat every first dance with the care and expertise it deserves so that you get the perfect first dance at your wedding. With that said there are a few things to think about to help you choose if you’re not sure.

First tip – don’t worry! We’ve got this covered with our years of experience playing a wide range of first dances, we’re more than well equipped to provide you with an excellent first dance. Whether you want your track performed live by us or if you want to play a recorded version through our top of the range h-k PA system we can accommodate! Remember your wedding is about you as a couple so whatever song you have in mind get in touch and we’ll arrange something special for you.

Do you want your guests to join in along the way?

Many couples don’t want to have the spotlight completely on them for the entire duration of their song, so speak to us about when you’d like us to invite your guests to join you on the dance floor. A lot of the first dances we play start slow and romantic, then building into a more energetic feeling towards the end of the song, to get everybody involved. Being a good live band is all about reading the room and playing with the most appropriate style and energy so don’t worry if you think your song may be too much of a slow burner.
